Vaccinations

It is strict policy that only fully vaccinated cats are eligible for boarding at Little Glen Cattery.

It will be necessary for your cat(s) to be vaccinated against Feline Enteritis and Upper Respiratory Infections (Cat Flu).  Up to date vaccination certificates will need to be seen on arrival.
If your cat has never been vaccinated or the annual booster is out of date, he/she will need to have a full course of vaccinations.  It will take a period of 4 weeks and 1 day from the administering of the first required injection to when your cat is safely covered for boarding, longer if you have the leukemia vaccination as well.

The proprietor reserves the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of ill health pending advice from a Veterinary Surgeon.  Owners will appreciate that this is essential in order to safeguard the health of all the cats boarded.

Cats over 7 months old must be neutered / spayed.

Flea and Worm Treatment

It is also appreciated that owners ensure that their cat is regularly treated against fleas and worms (for fleas it is usually every month or 6 monthly for veterinary injected treatments, and every 3 to 6 months for worm treatments).

Owners with cats that never go out sometimes feel it is not necessary to protect their cats, but obviously when coming into a cattery environment there is the possibility of another cat boarding that is carrying, and although we do our utmost to avoid this, if your cat is not protected it may well pick something up.

Sometimes cats are brought into the cattery with fleas  / worms and if this is the case, they will be treated and the cost recouped from the owner.

The best treatments are available from your veterinary surgeon.
